2023 Honda Gold Wing Automatic Tour DCT

The Honda Gold Wing is a perennial favorite of pilots and magazine editors and has been defending itself in one form or another for more than four decades. But today’s Gold Wing is a completely modern machine and has received regular technological and mechanical updates that have helped it to comfortably stay at the top of the long-distance category.

Key features include a 90hp 1,833 cm3 six-cylinder engine on our torque bench and an electronically adjustable double wishbone fork, both of which contribute to incredibly smooth performance and an extremely stable fit, even when fully flexed. On the Tour Automatic DCT model, Honda’s dual clutch transmission does the shifting for you, but for 2023 you can also choose between the Gold Wing DCT( automatic change, no upper trunk), the Gold Wing Tour (with upper trunk, but no DCT) and the high-end Gold Wing Tour Automatic DCT airbag, which adds an airbag to the automatic change and the upper trunk. All versions are equipped with a 7-inch color TFT display and Apple CarPlay integration, four driving modes, double disc brakes with ABS, a 5.5-gallon tank and LED lighting. Add an electrically adjustable windshield, keyless ignition, lockable luggage, cruise control, standard navigation and even a low-speed reverse function, and it’s easy to see why the wing is still the first choice for backpackers everywhere.

2023 BMW K 1600 GTL /

Another six-cylinder example that competes with the wing in terms of softness and sophistication, the flagship mileage cracker of the BMW K 1600 GTL also made it to our top TEN list more than once. The six-cylinder transverse mill was updated to Euro-5 emission standards last year and drives it with powerful 160 hp at the tap, supported by a peak torque of 133 .- checked. If these numbers are not impressive enough, take a look at the big K’s electronically adjustable suspension and adjustable windshield, as well as a huge 10.25-inch TFT color display with built-in navigation.

You will also receive adaptive headlights, tire pressure monitoring and programmable handlebar buttons, and the standard equipment now includes engine resistance torque control and dynamic traction control, which are supported by the input of the six-axis IMU. The 7-gallon tank, the partially integral ABS from BMW and the five-stage heated handles (and the seat) make a significant contribution to the fact that the drivers are comfortable and safe. Passengers will not suffer either, since the K’s large topcase is well padded, and one backrest extends upwards, and the combined storage space is equivalent to 29.9 gallons.

Harley-Davidson Road Glide Limited 2023

Growling, classic and very comfortable: this is how Harley TOURERS usually ride, and while you can choose from other large motorcycles of the Grand American series from H-D, the Road Glide Limited is a great option for rides for two thanks to its powerful Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine. The double-cooled 114ci engine produced 76.3 horsepower and 108 .- checked. the last time we had it on our dyno, with a 49 mm double valve fork, two front discs with ABS, a roomy integrated hard luggage with passenger backrest and boom! A box audio system and a large TFT touchscreen complete the list of welcome facilities.

There is plenty of storage space for two people on a weekend trip, with a huge Tour pak chest where you can swallow all your gear or full face helmet (for a total capacity of 4.7 cubic feet). Your passenger gets armrests and their own audio speakers to keep discomfort in the back seat to a minimum, while the solid ride quality of the bike, heated handles, cruise control and a 6-gallon fuel tank will take you where you want to go comfortably.
